This multiple award winning business was started byÌ´Ì_Nic and Erica Dibden. Our Pure Jersey herds and the unique Terre Noire of the Tilba region result in delicious, wholesome Tilba milk, cream, cheese, yogurt and artisan Jersey dairy products.

‰Û¡ÌÝ̏We have been farming and producing Jersey dairy products for over 25 years. Tilba Dairy is proud to be growing exceptional Australian produce, from the beautiful & unique Tilba Region of the Far South Coast, NSW‰Û¡ÌÝå

THE GREEN PASTURES OF TILBA

Our pure Jersey herds graze the lush green pastures surrounding Tilba, on the South Coast of NSW. We have been farming Jersey cows for the past 25 years.

Our milk is pasteurised, as is a legal requirement in Australia, which is a heat treatment. The milk is heated to 72.6 degrees for 15 seconds which maintains the integrity of the milk and ensures the health and quality of our dairy products.

Ì´Ì_We choose to milk Jersey cows for many reasons ‰Û¡ÌÝÌÕ as well as being beautiful animals ‰Û¡ÌÝÌÕ they produce milk which is high in butter fat and protein, and have a lower environmental impact on our farms. They are considered the Queen of Milking Cows.

OUR JERSEY CALVES

At Tilba Dairy our calves are kept until the age of 6 months when we separate the females and males, with the females going to a paddock where they are grown to milking age (approximately 2 years old). The male calves are kept for approximately 12 months for our meat production program.

We often get asked the question ‰Û¡ÌÝ̏When are the calves separated from their mothers?‰Û¡ÌÝå Each calf is different and needs to be individually assessed and monitored after birth. Some calves are completely abandoned by their mothers and human intervention is required early so that the calf receives its much needed colostrum. The calf is not separated from its mother until it is truly on its way and fit and healthy.
